The larch has soft needles, is a cone-shaped tree with upward reaching branches.  The needles are soft green in the summer and turn bright golden yellow in the fall.  The larch is a deciduous conifer, meaning it bears cones but loses its needles in the late fall.  A very unique feature tree.
